Our Story: The Quest Begins

After nearly two decades immersed in the world of music, a new quest began for me—a solo journey where creativity could span beyond genre. The name Origins of Orion, envisioned by my partner, immediately resonated. It carried a mystique, an ancient arcane lore that felt destined to embody a holistic brand, much like my music was never confined to one style. While the stage called to my soul, my deepest, most unexpected joy came from "working the merch table"—the tangible connection of bringing creative projects into the world.

Parallel to music, my lifelong obsession with video games, especially RPGs, thrived. I see the profound similarities between the mechanics of a fantastical RPG and the very fabric of our reality. It's no surprise that metaphysics, quantum science, and spirituality coalesce to suggest we're living in a grand, simulated universe, where our souls incarnate as characters on a journey of learning and play. For me, Final Fantasy VII is more than a game—it's my "Holy Roman Empire," a constant source of inspiration to rationalize how magic items and lore could manifest in our third-dimensional world. Everything, from colors to sounds, holds a frequency, and if perception creates meaning, then, yes, even by assigning meaning, items can be enchanted.

This belief ignited a spark: While the market offered plenty of fan merchandise, no one was making "magic items" meta. When my partner suggested transforming this RPG trope into actual gear, everything clicked. My passion for functional fashion, honed by games like Diablo, Neverwinter Nights, Elder Scrolls, Dark Souls, and even Mega Man X, found its true calling: to bring RPG IRL to life.

The first manifestation of this vision appeared in 2020 with the Mask of Protection, a lighthearted charm against the era's challenges, which surprisingly found its way to over 400 adventurers on Etsy. Soon after, the Socks of Stealth materialized from the aether, with me as their vessel.

The first version of the Socks was a tribute to text-based adventures like Gemstone, featuring iconic white-on-black and black-on-white arcade-like script. By 2024, Socks of Stealth 2 emerged, leveling up into the 8-bit era with pixelated icons, an updated layout, and stylized flairs. Now, in 2025, we present Socks of Stealth 2: Arcane Treasure Hunter Edition. This "expansion" pushes the concept to new heights of professionality, boasting full-color arcane dungeon backgrounds, featuring the valiant Arcane Rogue, and envisioning a future of full-color boxes reminiscent of classic Super Nintendo game art. This third iteration is a true milestone, where our world-building truly begins to take shape.

At Origins of Orion, we believe wearing our gear isn't just about fashion; it's about becoming fully immersed in life, igniting pure imagination and wonder, and feeling the energy of those subtle stat boosts strengthening your mind, body, and spirit. We dream of a world where Dungeon Masters acknowledge the DEX and CHA boosts from our "loot" in their tabletop sessions!

I've always been drawn to rogues for their love of adventure, loot, playfulness, and persuasive charisma. Adding wisdom, intelligence, and arcane mysticism to that archetype deeply resonates with the essence of the Arcane Rogue—the spirit that guides our creations.

Our overarching mission is simple yet profound: Origins of Orion aims to become the iconic, definitive brand for gamers, fantasy enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a lighthearted laugh. We want to empower you to embrace your most playful, imaginative self and lean into the very real magic that life has to offer.
